Very stuffy nose
Hi I get rhinitis which causes my nose to feel stuffed up. The inhaled reliever for my chest doesn't make any difference to my nasal passage.
My GP has presecribed Nasophan which I spray into each nostril. It contains a type of corticosteroid and I need to use it everyday and it doesn't work straight away. It reduces inflammation.
I used to take sudafed nasal inhaler but that is not good long term and simply dries up the mucus ( probably only best for short term colds). When I get a cold I find steam inhalations help or the vick type small inhlaers which you can but over the counter.
I used to get a totally blocked nose in the morning and mucus in my throat so debilitating.
I had a Fess op which helped for only a few weeks. I had lost my sense of smell, that also came back for a few weeks....luxury!
I have been taking Montelukast for 6 months and it's been life changing. No mucus, no stuffy nose, MARVELLOUS.
