Well with slight trepidation I went to Sh’bam, a new dance exercise class I’ve started going to and my asthma behaved, my ankle didn’t but aversion therapy is always good! 😂

I’ve always danced and unless I’m bad anyway, exercise doesn’t set me off so after my recent bad spell I’m rather chuffed that the only reason I had to slow down was because of an old dance injury to my ankle and not my respiratory system misbehaving! Take that asthma!

So pleased your asthma behaved itself.

Enjoy your dancing

Thank you

I do dance as well for exercise but in my case it’s ballet. My asthma is exercise induced, but I can cope with the stop start nature of ballet - short, intense bursts of aerobic exercise followed by a short break. I hope your ankle improves. One of the reasons why ballet is so good for me is because it gives me some much needed strength; I also happen to be hypermobile.

Good to hear that you’re enjoying your dancing and that your asthma decided against making its presence felt whilst you were doing it.

I love ballet! Ballet is to blame for my weak ankle! Glad it helps you

So sorry to hear that -that’s not a problem I’ve ever had, thank goodness. My ankles are known to be extremely vulnerable and prone to twisting (runs in the family, my father and my elder son are exactly the same), but I’ve never had it happen in a ballet class.

But I think some types of dance are ideal for asthmatics. Good exercise in short bursts done indoors. And you get to exercise your brain and do it all to music. Wonderful:-).

Yep! That’s why I love dancing as I’m working my brain out and the same time and I love getting lost in the music!
