Shadow on lung
Got exactly the same as you and it sounds scary but it's ok hospital will check every now and then. I don't hear from anyone about it now as it hasn't got any bigger and all you need to do is make sure it is on your notes at doctors. It's scary when you are first told so know how you feel, my asthma is finally calming down so take care every one x
Yep, have had the same - every few months for the past 5 years. I've had several different long and complicated medical terms to describe it, all of which are guaranteed to make you nervous! Mine is reckoned to be the consequence of the pneumonia that I had about 15 years ago. Your first thought is that you might have cancer, and you can't understand why the medics are so relaxed about it. As I've learnt, it's very common. You'll have a follow-up X-Ray in six weeks, which if my experience is anything to go by, will probably be inconclusive. I've been told that unless the shadow is accompanied by other warning signs - a persistent cough that gets worse, more breathing difficulties, sudden unexplained weight loss, clubbing of the toes and fingers, a general fatigue, coughing up blood etc, then the chances are that there is nothing sinister going on. One thing, it does say on your radiology report that you're a smoker - I'll bet quite a few people have suggested that now might just be a good time to quit?
