Recently diagnosed with 'possible allergy related' asthma and hoping to get some answers

I was just doagnosed with possible asthma. I have no history nor know anything about Asthma management or symptoms.

If anyone could answer some basic questions id be super thankful.

Is this normal for asthma: that I feel like there's something stuck in my throat like phlem but it won't clear.

I wheeze slightly when I breathe deeply at night,

I cough all night

My esophagus feels as though someone is squeezing it slightly.

Also the Ventolin doesn't take away my cough more than 1 hour. Sometimes it merely just reduces it.

Does this sound right?

Thankyou in advance and sorry if this seems so obvious to everyone.

Megan

Yes it does... I have at some point felt nearly all if not all of those symptoms... a night time cough and morning cough is common in asthmatics... if you cough all night could be pollen (at thjs time of year) or dust allergy anytime of year but dust likes warm, moist places and eating dead skin cells so bedding is their favourite

Ventolin is a short-acting bronchodilator which is why the effect wears off quickly. Sounds like you need a preventer inhaler to give you long term relief from your symptoms. Suggest you see your GP about that.
