I do not suffer from asthma, but I’ve had recurring chest infections, once with fluid on the lungs, I have pains in my chest and back and feel totally exhausted.
I’m on Clarithromycin atm, but previously had Amoxycillin
I’m not sure whether I actually have pneumonia??
Any ideas or help ... I would be grateful
Going back again to the docs tomorrow

Have you had any investigations? I really think you need to ask your GP to refer you to a chest specialist. If you have had fluid in your lungs were you hospitalized? Amoxil is usually given at first followed by other antibiotics such as clarithromycin and so on. A sputum specimen might help to see what bacteria could be causing this problem. Good luck sorry you feeling so unwell let me know how you get on.😊
Agree with Spikedog that you need this investigating. You say you're not asthmatic, but have you had that tested? A lot of people (including doctors) think that all asthmatics wheeze, but I don't and was diagnosed with late-onset asthma after a string of persistent winter colds. I also have fixed small airways obstruction, but both are treatable (and asthma is, of course, reversible), so it's definitely worth investigating further. Best of luck tomorrow.
It's a start. Please see your GP though, chest xray should be back in seven days book an appointment now. Doxycycline is taken once a day and hammers most chest infections seems as if what you have taken no help. Hope you get sorted soon and back to your normal self.😊
I agree....a sputum test to wean out possibility of some type of bacteria causing the infection is a good thing to do. Dr. Hahn mentioned that people that have asthma tested positive for chlamydia pneumonia bacteria in lungs.
