beta.nhs.uk/medicines/salbu... Ventolin is a brand name . So salbutamol maybe cheaper but they work the same.
I am personally fine with either Ventolin or Salbutamol, they are the same drug. However, sometimes there is a difference in the propellant which can make a difference for a few people. I would try the new inhaler and see.

Hi Sarahjane. I believe salbutamol is cheaper and is the same as ventolin. Some say it doesn't work the same but it works fine for me. Give it a try cause you can always get it changed back if needed.
I've found that if you go to Boots for your prescription they will give you ventolin anyway.
Salbutamol is the medication, Ventolin is the trade name.
Ventolin is only a brand name which if its blue still contains Salbutamol, they are probably giving you a blue Cheaper brand name item but may still contain Salbutamol, are they the same? No, the propellant is different and you can taste it. I don't like the cheaper propellant version as it seems to make my symptoms worse. Hope this helps,
It’s the same - ventolin is a trade name for salbutamol - both interchangeable - but like buying Kellogg’s corn flakes but you can get Tesco own brand for half price and it’s the same thing
