Sorry to hear that. If she's taken 3 in 45 minutes and it's not working you do need to call after hours medical attention now. Try to remain calm and she can also do her breathing exercise. It's best to get ahead of these things.

I am glad she is getting better. It sounds like you did the right thing. Maybe talk to her and get her a bit of counseling if it was the first time she had to ride an ambulance. I've seen from other posts on these forums that it can be quite alarming, particularly since asthma is one of those things you can be having it bad but can walk and talk others don't understand and it's kind of embarrass

Oops - hit return by accident.

...Kind of embarrassing. But you don't want her to be afraid of getting help later in life if needed when you aren't nearby to help. It's just one of those things to come to terms with.

they do take a little time to kick in but should help

if she has another pump apart from the blue one she can up her intake of that to two to three times a day

Hi twiddles2 ,

Sorry to hear your sister hasn't been well. There's some information on our website that you might find useful: bit.ly/2q6r1aR, If you ever need any advice or support our asthma specialist nurses are here for you and your sister on our helpline 0300 222 5800 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm).

Take care,

Dita

I know this happened 2 months ago but make sure she never uses that much of a dosage. I used to have 10 puffs for a bad asthma attack and a when it came to a small one it had ran out and my dad had to get emergency inhalers.
