I am no expert, but my preventative inhaler is to be taken every day and my blue inhaler (Ventolin -Salbutamol or now Salamol!!!) is used as needed to open the airways!
Clenil is the Cfc free replacement for becotide it's beclomethasone (steroid)
Clenil is what they started me on again a few months ago ( I had becotide when I was younger)... sadly it wasn't quite enough and I ended up on fostair
Now I would hope your doctor/nurse has told you to make sure you rinse your mouth after taking your inhaler to reduce the chances of a throat infection (thrush/tonsillitis etc)
And you need to take your clenil every day (even when you feel well) as it's a slow acting thing (not like the blue inhaler)
So I've been told to imagine them as a two step process.....
The brown one is an anti-inflammatory which helps soothe/reduce the inflamation over time
The blue one is when you need quick relief... shortness of breath, chest tightness, cough etc (and should work quickly to help relieve these asthma symptoms)
Also now it's cold when your outside it can be worth wearing a scarf over your mouth which will help warm the cold air slightly helping if you have issues with the cold air
