Hello, when you have the saliva in your throat, is it like being sick/vomitting? Does the saliva 'burn' your throat? If yes, you may have acid from your stomach coming up into your throat. This will cause burning, and it can also cause coughing/hard to breathe. If this is what you are feeling, then go the doctor and explain what is happening to your stomach/throat. The condition is called Acid Reflux, and it also causes asthma (because the acid from your stomach gets to your lungs and makes you cough), this type of asthma is called Cough Varian Asthma. If the doctor confirms it is Aicd Reflux and Cough Variant Asthma, you will get medication to control the acid in your stomach and medication for the asthma. I have these conditions, the medication helps a lot to control my condition.
Hello.thanks for your helpful reply. the first thing My chest and lung is okay. i did many exam them. my lung are clear. I have no cough. i don't know how i explained it to you .. I mean i cough my self for clearing my throat but no cough naturally . Yes I have acid problem before starting this diseases also have now. when i wake up in the morning i feel acidity in my throat. about 4/5 night i wake up from sleep in the night because of acidity. when i wake up it stay clear. if it is acidity i never tension .. but i saw that when i go to journey one city to another city i felt very weak. its look like i can not breath and i will die. another thing when i go in the AC room sometimes my breath became sort.
NOW MAJOR PROBLEM THAT CAN NOT JOURNEY WITH BUS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT .. I ALSO THINK ITS ACIDITY AT THE FIRST TIME .. ACIDITY NOT MAKE MAJOR PROBLEM I ALWAYS COUGHING AND CLEARING THROAT ... NOW MY NOSE STAY COLD. AND MORNING I STAY GOOD AT THE END OF THE DAY IT MAKE ME VERY WEAK.. I CAN NOT BREATH CLEARLY ...
If you have never had treatment for your acid problem, then I strongly suggest you talk to your doctor about it as soon as possible. The acid from your stomach gets out of the stomach and into your airways/breathing, the lungs are very sensitive and the acid being in your throat can then start to irritate/damage the lungs. This happens a lot at night, because you are lying down, the muscle at the top of the stomach relaxes and lets acid out. Many people do not realise that it is the stomach affecting the lungs, but this is a common cause of asthma. There are medicines to control stomach acid, such as Lansoprazole, which can help very quickly. My asthma can improve in 1 or 2 days, from being very bad to being very good.
yes. i already took antacid... but not much ... improved. but i i look that when i stay empty stomach then i can breath clearly ... empty stomach make me comfortable.. but i am nervous about the environment and cold problem. at the morning it make me problem... my breath going sort... its also happen for acidity ? or its cold allergy ?
Hi, I am not a doctor, I have suffered with acid problems, and I have asthma. My asthma symptoms seem to me to be connected sometimes with my digestion, especially if I feel 'bloated' or 'slow' (constipated).
Physical posture, as you have found, is a significant aspect to controlling symptoms.
I find that sleeping on my left side helps (because of the shape of the stomach).
I have been diagnosed with 'dispepsia', and told it's a 'functional disease'.
I was told to eat small meals and to leave about two hours after eating before bed.
I was told to avoid caffeine, spicy foods, tobacco and alcohol. I don't smoke.
If you have heartburn (acid reflux that hurts the throat) then 'antacids' and Ranitidine will provide relief but will not cure the cause.
A different class of drug can help: proton pump inhibitors: I was given Omeprazole. Lansoprazole is another.
I have wondered if I may have had something called GERD (Gastro-esophageal-reflux-disease) or even an Hiatus Hernia but I have not visited doctors enough with my symptoms.
I would recommend improvements in diet and posture. Avoid foods that cause constipation. Take enough fluids but not too much of anything at any one time. Avoid acidic or spicy foods or drinks (no orange juice!) or things you have noticed worsen your symptoms.
One strange exception: I find that cayenne pepper (powder) actually helps (most chilli / chile peppers do not!).
Hi again! I have also rhinitis and have in the past been prescribed Beconase, which is a cortico-steroid nasal spray that reduces inflammation in the nasal passages. My condition is mild so I no longer use it.
It sounds as though environmental factors are a significant cause of some of your problems - traffic pollution/airborne irritants and allergens. Often it is the particles we cannot see, the very small dust and fibres that cause the most problems.
I agree that doctor advice is needed again and again! but find what works for you- some advice, including my own, might not help your particular conditions.
I don't use facebook!
When your symptoms are better, perhaps try lifestyle, environment and dietary changes more.
Hello you could be suffering from vocal chords problems as you say your throat feels swollen , it's hard to swallow. You also say buses upset you, and you sometimes have difficulty speaking, the fumes from the buses could bee affecting your vocal chords. Difficulty breathing can be caused by vocal chords. You will have to have this verified by a doctor of course. One thing you must not do if it is your vocal chords is try to clear them, have a drink of water instead or cough. If a doctor verifies it is your vocal chords the normal treatment here is speech therapy, hoping this helps you, good luck
