Been on pred now for 7 months, in between this I've had one hospital admission and 5 weeks off work.  Still on pred, up and down with dosage, get to 18mg and have to go back up to 30 mg as I start to get systom again. So today back up to 30mg, so again I am emotionally unstable, work is becoming more hard to manage. At the moment I'm on symbicort 400, singular and ventolin , plus atrovent.. I have a moon face and feel rubbish.  I'm going to the consultant on Monday ,  hopefully will give me some hope. I've been asthmatic since I was 2 (50 years).  Just needed to get how I feel today out in the open!!!

Sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish. I can't offer much advice though I do know the feeling of being stuck on steriods for months on end.. Sounds like you're doing all the right things but hopefully you're consultant will be able to suggest more to help you. Feel better soon!

I know how you feel i have been stuck on steroids for 4 months now, i seem to be able to get down to 10mg and then symptoms become worse so steroids are increased it is like a never ending cycle! I currently back up to 40 after getting yet another chest infection which the doctor wanted to sign me off work for but had to refuse as really cant take anymore time off! I see my consultant on Monday so hopefully he will have some plan of where we are going to go next! Hope your appointment with your consultant goes well on Monday too, let us know how you get on!

Hello,

Totally sympathise - I have been on pred for almost 2 years, down to 7.5mg now. Just prior to xmas diagnosed with osteopenia due to steroid use. Mood and sleep patterns are a nightmare which leads to severe tiredness which makes work difficult at times as the lack of sleep brings on sinus/migraines!

Wishing you well and better health :-)

Hi ....... I feel your pain, I've been on 20 mg maintenance for 12 months but to be honest it's not enough to keep me stable ...... My moods are terrible !! Every two months I have to go back up to 40mg as I get so bad then taper back down to 20mg.........

I call it the never ending story !!! I've also recently had dexa scan and confirmation that my bones are thinning !!
