Hi, looking for advice again,my 2.5 year old asthmatic son has recently had a bad cold but cannot clear the cough, he has coughed all night for the past 3 nights despite having his usual preventer inhaler. Should I take him back to the doctors or should I just let it run its course?

I would take him back to the doctor and get him checked out. The fact that he has been coughing through the night for the past three nights despite the fact that he has a preventer inhaler suggests that something's not quite right. It might be the cold taking time to clear, but it could be his asthma playing up or even a chest infection brewing. Get him to the doctor.

Thank-you for your help, did what u said and got him to the docs. He has an upper respiratory infection so on antibiotics for a week, poor sausage x

I went through similar situations when my two boys were small - particularly with the younger of the two, who was also asthmatic. Glad to hear you discovered what was causing the problem. Hopefully the antibiotics will do the job and he'll be better soon.
