Yes, I was advised to take four puffs twice daily, but can only tolerate two puffs at a time. With two puffs I am a little shaky but with four it was as if I had been plugged into the mains!

Yes, salmeterol is a long acting beta agonist so it packs more punch than Ventolin. I feel shaky and queasy after taking it.

I use Fostair 100 mg and was told to take two puffs twice a day and It does make my hands shakey. I have my asthma under control and gradually I have cut down to one puff twice a day. I told the doctor when I saw him last and he said that was okay and so far I feel alright but if I get a cold or chest infection I will increase it again. I seem to be getting on with Fostair other than the odd shakes! I was previously on Seretide but they took me off that saying there were too many side effects!

Hi, I was put on fostair last year and I've noticed a huge improvement in symptoms but I remember a few weeks of palpitations and side effects before it settled down.

Thankfully i am starting to see an improvement in my symptoms since starting on fostair and am hoping that the shaking will slowly reduce. After 8 days in hospital, 2 weeks of antibiotics and coming up for 3 weeks on steroids i hope i am finally on the right track!!
