I'm trying to be good and identify what my triggers are, just wondered if anyone could help me figure out what happened yesterday?!
I spent most of the day sat watching films, as in I barely moved for about 6 hours! (I'm a student so it's allowed :P) One of my flatmates knocked on my door and said he'd planned a last minute suprise party for another flatmate whose birthday it was. I got up and started to get changed and do my makeup and stuff and suddenly my chest was tight and I was really struggling to catch my breath. I used my salbutamol twice, sat down for a bit and then when things calmed down a bit I carried on. The same thing happened again, just walking around my room (which is a tiny box) really seemed to get to me. It took about 4 puffs before I felt like I could go and see everyone who had congregated in our kitchen.
I have no idea what caused it though! It certainly wasn't exercise, it was about 10pm so unlikely to be pollen, I hadn't forgotten my inhaler once for a week and my flatmate that smokes in his room had temporarily vanished off the face of the planet! I like to blame him usually My chest isn't perfect now, but is better than last night.
Have I missed something? Something must have caused it!

sprays? powder-y make-up? maybe musky or dust clothes? those are the main 'getting ready to go out' triggers i can think of!
Thanks soph
I thought about some of those, but I didn't use any sprays and I always use the same makeup. It could have been my clothes since I was digging to the back of the wardrobe to find something to wear, but then my wardrobe doors are nearly always open.
i assume you were getting ready alone, otherwise other peoples sprays or make-up! Also, hairdryers affect some people!

Yep all alone haha I didn't have any time to wash my hair. I literally had about 10 mins to go from no makeup, hair shoved up and pj's to being fit to be seen in public, at a party, where all the lights are on and everyone is sober!
Do you reckon you could be starting off with a cold or anything, thats what normally sets me off!!
Perhaps it could even be the change in temperature? Because its loads warmer than it has been?
Or even the perfume/sprays/makeup your friend was wearing?
Hope you're feeling better now!

I often have no identifiable trigger. Quite annoying. x
Still bothering me but I that it's hayfever now! I found out today that another of my flatmates has taken to smoking shisha in his room, so it was probably the smoke that set me off. I have asked him not to do it in future, although he suddenly didn't speak english when I asked so we'll see how that goes!
Smoke would definitely do it
Hope all is well.

Sticking your head in the closet close to clothes with dust might have a different effect than just having the door open.
