I'm sorry that you are suffering with pain after pleurisy, I hope you start to feel better soon.

Whenever I have had pleurisy I always seem to get terrible pain in my right lung but my GP prescribes Co-Codamol 30/500 strength.

codeine is usually contraindicated in people with asthma... :/

Jillywilly, hope the pleurisy effects improves soon. The pain can last some time as being inflammation of the pleura just under the ribs, stretched with breathing and no time to rest and recover.

Haven't had Acupan myself. It is Nefopam, a useful alternative to other painkillers not being an opioid or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAIDs).

Codiene is usually 'use in caution with asthma' not necessarily contraindicated unless having an acute asthma attack. Ibuprofen and other NSAIDs can be a trigger for some.
