Autumn has found me. Am back on 40mg Prednisolone for what I hope will only be five days. Has anyone else found Autumn?

Autumn feeling
Yes autumn has definitely found me too...I'm struggling with a stinking cold at the moment, which I hoped wouldn't move from my sinuses to my chest but surprise surprise here I am taking my ventolin so often and being so tight chested. I've moved myself into the spare room to at least let my husband get some sleep. I can't afford to have any more time off work, and what will people say ""oh it's only a cold"". I don't think they understand! I've just finished another course of pred and I think I'm becoming immune to it...have had so many courses to little effect. Hope you feel better soon.
Yep, my lungs are a barometer for the weather and 'a little cold' means trouble :-S
Yes. Autumn has found me too. I'm suffering with a chest infection at the moment.
lol Im still struggling with the after effects of summer, will have been on steroids 4 months by the end of October, and still feel pants.. are you allergic to something in the autumn or is it the colder damper weather?
Hope you feel better soon
Lynda
i have been ill for the last 2 weeks with a cold and chest infection, needed pred and antibiotics, still have a cough and really tired but everyone seems to be ill at the moment, there are some nasty viruses going round
It is the cold dampness that triggers me every year. I am lucky I rarely get infections or viruses.
Yep! Cold weather and viruses/infections mean very grumpy lungs! Already had 2 courses of antibiotics since beginning of sept ... And looking like I'll need some more as currently up coughing, with a fever

I think my lungs have taken a dislike to autumn too.
I don't know what's up with them really. PF down to 350 from 550 and have a feeling of SOB like I'm only using the top part of my lungs if that makes any sense? I have had a cold and a cough but now I feel like I want a b****y good cough to get rid of gunk but nothing happens when I try. Sometimes my chest rattles when I breathe in like there's gunk to clear but it still wont cough up (gross I know!). I don't have a temperature and on the rare occasion I do get to cough, its not green so its not likely to be a chest infection. Any tips/suggestions?
A cough that produces white phelgm only is inflammation in your airways.
This is what I have daily. The cough gets worse when I am short of breath.
Basically cough variant asthma. When my cough vanishes I know my asthma is well controlled.
Sounds like you need more asthma preventer. Suggest a visit to your asthma nurse or gp.
My chest decided not to wait for Autumn and got going during the August bank holiday weekend .
Thanks Plumie, I'll up my preventer and see the doc (asthma nurse is useless!) if it gets no better xxx
Snap!Glad it's not just me who is feeling the change in weather, Iam sensitive to moulds and fungi so Autumn is always rough. Can't have flu jab yet cause got chest infection and am back on antibiotics and Pred..
I've got the start of a cold, after only 4wks since I got rid of the other one. So far the clenil has worked, have only been on it a week, only had to use my reliever twice this week. Compared to twice or more a day
My lungs seem to be protesting all the time at the moment and breathing took a dive.
Asthma team aware of it and hospital think a heart problem also.Waiting for more tests and put on diuretics ....lol
Must be the change in weather, autumn october feeling fungal spores and the usual bugs doing their rounds...
