I learned some yoga as a teen and I still use some of the exercises for flexibility, muscle tone, etc. Yoga is good from the perspective that it is slow and gentle, but also encourages deep breathing - so it can be quite accessible for people with asthma (apart from certain exercises such as the Plough, which makes you scrunch yourself up and makes proper breathing, er, interesting...).
Hi Katielou
I love yoga and do it as much as I can. Like Cathbear said it's gentle, so it's quite accessible, but at the same time, it's a great workout. It helps me to pay attention to my breathing too, and sometimes I am able to get a little bit of a deeper breath than I though I could. Some things I just can't do, like shoulderstand, plough, and a couple other twisty ones. I also have a hard time lying on my back for long for savasana. I hope you can get into it a little bit. Take care,
Brynne
Yoga helped me a lot I think. I had to do it for 3 years at drama school. It made your whole body feel stronger. Alond with all the controled breathing exercises and meditation. Be warned though every muscle in your body will hurt like hell for the first month.
