Asthma and Yoga

Hello and welcome to my blog “Asthma and Yoga”.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I am dedicating this blog to all of my friends who are suffering with this breath soaking decease. I am not here to tell what Asthma Or Yoga are, Because neither I am a Doctor, or medical representative -who is promoting there new medicine by fooling millions and millions people like us, nor I am a classic Yoga Guru who has practised years and years to discover how to control your breath for minutes.

I know what Asthma is because I have gone through this and I know what every breath means.

Did you notice what I just said ""I have gone through this""....What does it mean?

Yes! My dear friends I have win over the Asthma.

May be not One hundred percent (100%) but yes 98%.

First, I just want to tell little bit about myself before I share how I have won over Asthma. If you don't want to know about me, you can directly jump to heading reads: The new life with Yoga!

--------------------------------------------------------------

It's me:

I used to be a really good athlete in my school time, very fun loving and sporty young person. However, I was very active person but I had a Sinous problem since I was 8-10 years old; I was weak against the dust and various other pollution problems. When I was 20 years old; slowly slowly I start building up the Asthma and it was the begging of my dark days.

I could not concentrate on my studies; I had to leave the sports and I was just in to myself because I could not stop thinking that -I will never be a healthy person in my life; I wont be able to play any sport; I wont be able to run; and I wont be having Happy marriage life.

I have been to so many Doctors -I tried all sort of medicines from Allopathic to Homeopathy. Believe me or not -one day even I had one spoon of Dettol; just thinking that it might help me to come over from that.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Tunnel:

I felt as I have got stuck in a dark tunnel; No sign of life No sign of light.

I was getting weaker and weaker in my health thinking about my future, this tension was even making my Asthma worst.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Light at the other end of Tunnel:

I am a self motivated person, I love talking to myself.

One day when I was talking to myself -I said to myself: I will never give-up like this and I will have to do something. I want to enjoy my life; I want to go to club; I want to dance; I want to play; I want to do everything a healthy person can do.

As sports and Gym are always my first love then I thought there should be something which I can do which might not involve very heavy hard work. Then, I start reading about Yoga. My eyes were wide open as I read through what Yoga is; and I was very much sure this will give me a new life. I could see bright light at the end of Tunnel. :)

I start practising few steps which were specially suggested for breath related symptoms.

==========================================

New Life with Yoga:

I practise those steps for few days (3-4 days) and one fine day when I woke up in the morning, I was standing in a whole new world.

Wow! I could breathe now; I could feel air is going inside my lungs. Ohh! my God it is a totally new life.

The Great Yoga:

Friends! as Yoga have given me new life and I know what healthy life means. I would like to share my experience with you. I have practised these steps of Yoga, which have helped me to win over Asthma.

Note: Please consult with your Doctor before practising any step as every person is different and these steps might have some side effects.

Life saving Yoga steps:

1. Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing Dog)

2. Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose)

3. Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Lord of the Fishes Pose)

4. Marichyasana III (Pose Dedicated to the Sage Marichi, III)

5. Parivrtta Trikonasana (Revolved Triangle Pose)

6. Supta Virasana (Reclining Hero or Heroine Pose)

You can search how to practise these steps in the Yoga books or on the Yoga websites. My favorite website for yoga steps is always: yogajournal.com

But still if you need some help how to practise these steps please send me an email or post your message on this blog.

If you also have any other experience, like me, please share with us.

Lets start breathing now.....

Hi Jas

I'm really glad to hear that yoga has been helping you breathe. I've been trying it lately, been enjoying it, as it's gentle, but haven't really noticed any improvement with the asthma. Thanks for sharing this. Take care
