I have had asthma for a few years now, it being adult onset asthma. My first ever attack was in a swimming pool, and I had to be dragged out of the pool.
My asthma has been fine up until recently where I have had a persistant cough and sometimes a rattly chest as well, my medication has been changed and I am now on seretide 125 (2 puffs twice a day). It has improved my asthma, but it seems to get better and then worse again.
I wondered if anyone may have any suggestions as to what I could do, as I seem to go to the doctors and it gets better, and then it gets worse.
Having been back to the GP several times, I am now on Singulair (Montelukast) and have been on it for a month, it seems to be working for me as I am not coughing at all apart from having the odd wheezyness perhaps one day a week. Hopefully it will carry on like this.
I have found that singulair also helped me I'm also on symbicort which is also good, however they aren't preventing the chest infections
