strange coloured mucus

hi. sorry for bothering everyone with my silly problems again...today ive started to cough stuff up, but the weird thing is that its not white or green or yellow. it appears to be brown with little black specs in it. has anybody had this before? should i take it to mean a chest infection or some other problem or nothing in particular? am really struggling this evening, but dont want hossie as tomorrow i have an appointment to register at uni and they stop registering on friday. so i really cant afford to be captured...

Could you ring out of hours service and see what they say? You should get checked out but I can appreciate you dont want to miss your uni appointment.
