I wonder why they don't have any stills of the device leaving you to look at a very fast video of it?
Not impressed to be honest.
I went bodyboarding yesterday and the Aquapak that contained my bricanyl turbohaler and car key sufficed, touch wood, for myself.
Great idea but don't think I would buy one. Not even for my son so doesn't have the hassle of fiddling with zipps at school. I don't think it is designed for all inhalers.
re video.... rubbish inhaler techniques!
agree the video is very fast and hard to view properly, stills would be nice but some on FB,
good pic on FB here, tinyurl.com/29vwypw (not sure if you need FB account to view)
If it can be proven that using an inhaler at that angle with that technique works well enough to get the medication into the lungs properly, then this is something I would be very interested in.
I've just been allowed to start swimming again after a long time off with my asthma, I'm loving it, but probably pushing myself a little too hard and I do need my inhaler during swimming. I keep it on the side of the pool but as I swim in a 50m pool, I could be some way from it, also I worry about having it lying around when there's little kids who might pick it up.
If anyone has any bright ideas for swimming with an inhaler in the meantime, I'd love to hear them. Also, my inhaler (I keep one just for swimming) got a soaking today when someone appearing to swim in the style of a beached whale emptied half the pool over the sides - does this affect the inhaler at all?
Ratty, buy an Aquapack from Amazon or your local surf shop. The size for car keys will hold a locker key and an asthma inhaler just fine. I use one for surfing.
I just attach it to my wrist and away I go. For swimming it can go around the ankle.
while swimming at the pool I leave the inhaler at the end of the pool held to a water bottle by an elastic band. Not noticed the water having any major effects on the inhaler but if the hole or the surrounding area is wet could imagine some of the content sticking or being hindered from proper delivery.
I will have to take a look at the aquapack. My son is meant to start swimming again this Thursday with school and his dad is going ot go along as an observa and he will have Rayn's inhaler and areo-chamber with him so that if he needs it he can administor it on pool side while Ryan stays in the water but the aquapack sounds great for when dad can't go and observe him swimming. School are terrible for forgetting to take his inhaler with them so if I can put on in his swim bag that he can keep on him that would be even better
