Left Lung

Just recently have had two severe asthma episodes which required medical attention each time. Ever since then I have had a very sore left lung it hurts whenever I take a breath.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this after asthma attacks.

I get a lot of muscular pain in my chest following asthma attacks :( (I'm not sure if that's what you mean though.... )

NSAIDs like ibuprofen are good for reducing inflammation - if you're not allergic to them!! I'm allergic so I don't take anything and just wait for the pain to ease.

Hope you feel better soon x

I wouldn't advise taking any sort of NSAID's (ibuprofen included) even if you aren't allergic they can trigger quite severe attacks! I'm not allergic but they've caused nasty attacks it the past! Paracetomol is fine, and if it persists definitley see your doctor or an out of hours

xx

When I said allergic to NSAIDs I meant allergic in that they cause asthma attacks! Some people with asthma can take NSAIDs and aspirin without a problem, some people have an allegic reaction which can manifest as an asthma attack.

Anzharry, if NSAIDs cause you to have severe asthma attacks then you're allergic to them.

Asthmagirl, you could try having a hot water bottle on the painful area? xx

Thanks for the replies and advice you have given, I have taken some paracetamols and they are helping a bit, I can not take aspirin because I am allergic to it.

Hi,

I've had this before. Is it a sharp pain? There's this thing called pleurisy which is when there is an inflammation between the lining of your lung. I think a lung infection can cause that. I also have a pleural effusion myself, and get that pain on breathing deeply. So I would think tylenol might help, but you also might want to run it past a doctor if it gets worse when you breathe in.
