has anyone ever lost their voice through coughing so much week after week? Mine has gone, and been missing for just over 2 weeks, I wondered if this is usual?? Anyone know?

Thanks

Yes I sometimes do when my Asthma has been bad, no pain with it, just squeaky or non existent speech.

My voice and tone has become much weaker since using my inhalers and often sounds hoarse and I can't shout (which I guess some of my family are pleased about). I sometimes sound like I smoke 40 cigs a day even though I am a non-smoker! Hope your voice returns soon. Take care x

Hi

I have been known to lose my voice for many weeks after a bad attack, kids say its a godsend and i think that in one sense they are right, because if i cant talk I dont try and my lungs get rest. So dont worry too much, and get well soon xx

Hi Jackie,

Yes, when I am really bad my voice also goes for quite a while.

Hope you start to feel better soon

Thank you for all of your replies, glad it seems the norm. I get some CT scans and blood test results tomorrow to see for sure if it is asthma or something else.

Thanks J xx
