OK maybe a silly question, but does anyone experience a weakness in their voice when their asthma is bad? Like there's not enough power there to make a loud noise?

Weak voice
Good. Morning Butterfly yep I croak and my voice is very weak. Before my asthma my voice was very strong and my husband said I could call the trawlers in from the sea I am now waiting to see a speech therapist. Mention it to your doc when you next see him. ♥♥♥
Hi, yes I do too, especially after an attack, it's fristrating, awaiting speech and language referral too.
According to my wife I have a gob that can wake the dead so I can't help you with this one I'm afraid
When I am breathless I get a weak voice. Physiotherapist for hyperventilation said this was normal because less air going through voice box. Once breathing settles voice will return.
Hi butterfly. Yes I have a weak voice all the time. I seem to be troubled with upper respiratory tract congestion all the time now. Think that's what is causing it. My husband thinks its ok because I can't nag him as loud or for as long.lol
I used to lose my voice every time i did a race and my asthma kicked off, i also tend to lose my voice with every cold / flu / chest infection.
I blame the pneumonia jab which i had 10 years ago! Before then i had never lost my voice, immediately after the jab i was ill for 3 weeks - 1 week really bad cold, 1 week really bad asthma, 1 week lost voice and that was the very first time i'd ever lost my voice.
At the moment, sadly i am the very personification of no voice!! Had a severe chest infection back in January which led to lost voice. 4 weeks later and a 2nd infection i began seeing ENT, they found necrosis onm y vocal cords - ENT cons wanted me to stop my seretide!!!!! Luckliy my GP disagreed!
Anyway, the necrosis has now healed and i've started speech therapy - i cankind of sing but my speaking voice is still almost non-exixtent!
My voice at times is weak or hoarse , my Gp said it was my inhalers dry out the vocal cords. He also referred me to a specialist, who did some tests and put a camera down to check things out , she concluded that it was my inhalers
There is a definite connection between my voice and my breathing. Having vocal therapy which is fab. She explained it all and does vocal exercises and training . As the airways close the voice is strained and breathing is mainly from shoulders area. Therapy has helped me to breathe from my belly rather than upper body . It's hard and doesnt always happen but I try.
