I need your advice, as i think my erratic asthma is showing signs of calming down but in the strangest way ever and im thinking is this normal?
at my last check up things looked like they were on the up as my pf jumped to 450 and it seemed calm but the hyperventilation and headaches that were happening meant that i would have to increase the Flixotide 250 top up to the night too. but now i'm noticing that i'm having an almost routine tight chest attack at almost the same time everyday. there are lots of small things going on now but is it normal for it to get worse before it gets better?
In a word, yes. Mine did much the same. Tight chest around almost the same time which IMO put down to steroid levels falling betwixt the twelve hour puffs.
Hope someone comes on with better answer to why it happens and best wishes on better control within reach very soon.

Is asthma this erratic before it calms down...
hi thanks i'm so fed up at the moment with this erratic attacks i'm trying to keep everything stable to prevent another flare up but it kind of feels like i fix one thing and something else kicks off..i'm so tired of this
Re Erratic
In total denial I was ignoring the fact that my PFs were between 260 - 300 for week or so. Telling myself due to something in the air or I hadn't blown into the meter properly as in a rush, etc, etc. and that anyway I felt well otherwise. LOL. Till the day it came crashing in on me and I had a day and a half of feeling so down and weepy.
I'm ok now and monthly review is next week anyway. But oh! I wish there was an instant answer to asthma. %(
Hi confused
If i am going to have an asthma attack it will either be an hour after going to sleep at night, or around 2-6am. This is caused because your steriod level is at the lowest then if you are on the oral steriods as well as inhalers. I cough and cough and cough. i rarely get attacks in the day unless i really ill. I would say you are like me and need more medication at night to get you through the night!

Is asthma this erratic before it calms down...
hi plumie,
your right actually i think that there is a massive chance that i am severely hyperventilating during the night as started dreaming about gasping for air and surprisingly i woke up gasping for air too. i'm just fed up and sick and tired of these random attacks and all new weird symptoms.
thanks for the advice it helps to know that this i common and that my asthma hasn't driven me to the brink of madness. (completely)
