Ok so has anyone got some weird and wonderful tricks that they can send my way.
I have now had a constant infection for atleast 6 months (this time round anyway)...when last tested it was pnemonia.
I have had amoxy(body now resistant to), clarythro(cant have now as back on amino) and now recently doxcy antibiotics. All seem to make my bloods look good but within a day of coming off either of them i am straight back to having the lush green gunk and temps and flare ups of asthma.
I am basically wondering if any of you guys have heard of any other amazing tricks that i can go armed to my gp appointment that i have tomorrow as again i have been off the antis a day and i have spiked another temp, got the pretty green stuff again and generally feeling pants. But obviously these antibitoics clearly arnt shifting the infection long term...
Has any one else experienced this and what did you do!?! Its really frustrating me now...
(dont worry ill get help over night if needed, mummy also aware and on alert with her mobile next to the bed ready, just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced similar!?)
Not quite the same scenario charlie_warlie but I have also been on rather too many antibiotics for my liking for sinusitis/post ENT surgery infections. ENT consultant has suggested I need general and also immunoglobin-not just IgE- bloods to check for underlying causes (not sure what she had in mind).
Thank you muchly, will question tomorrow
im a little frustrated as i only came out of costa last friday again and i dont want to go back in all the time so want to be able to manage at home. Meant to be going to bristol to see my dad at the weekend but if im like this i wont be as i dont want to risk being captured at the BRI lol
just dont get whata going on...and today i have appeared in around 20 bruises which is also very bizar... Il be asking about that also unless you guys have any grand thoughts!?!

Sorry you probably won't like this suggestion as it is likely to be hospital based unless you can convince your consultant you can do this at home... but some sort of IV antiobiotics (probably 14 days worth)... To see if you can get rid of the infection for good...
Have you had any recent sputum tests to see if you are culturing anything else other than pnemonia.... and to see if you can have the associated antibiotic to treat it...
bruising may come from prednisolone if you still on them as they are a side effect.
hope you get sorted out tomorrow and get to see your dad at the weekend.

Are the bruises late in developing from your hospital admissions...
Thanks again and with the bruises, no they are on my legs and ankles and random places on my arms no where specific and nowhere that i have been stabbed with needles. There all randomly placed. Mum did ask me if id been knocking myself randomly but i cant think of amything.
I think iv antis would be good but i really dont want to be in costa and i dont like side effects of iv antis. Bit of a catch really but i guess as last resort. Just wish i knew why the infection wont budge and why i keep getting so many. So annoyin.

Charlie,
Have you asked consultant? What does he/she think? I know that some hospitals can do IV antibiotic treatment as an outpatient or you can have a community nurse come and do them at home. Have they done a sputum culture to check what antibiotics you're actually sensitive to, and are they giving them in the right sort of dose. I always find if I get antibiotics from the hospital theyre double the dose for double the length of time my GP would give me.
Let us know how you get on,
x
I am now on cefalixe...fingers crossed they may do something...be the fourth antibiotic ive tried...bit of an arogant gp who didnt seem to bothered by my asthma though which is a little disappointing!! Ah well...always a an e again if i get worse!!
