Sounds lush, especially with chocolate added. I assume if you use drinking chocolate you cut down on the sugar. Or am I guessing wrong?

You need:

1 pint skimmed milk

3 tbsp granulated artificial sweetener

1 level tbsp cornflour

Suggested flavourings:

2 level tbsp low-calorie drinking chocolate

4 tbsp sugar-free fruit cordial

A few drops of peppermint essence

Chocolate chips

Food Colouring (optional)

1. Mix 4 tbsp milk with the artificial sweetener and the cornflour: Pour the remaining milk into a saucepan and blend in the cornflour mixture. Heat, stirring, until boiling and slightly thickened. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool. If you are making the chocolate lollies, mix in the chocolate powder at this point. If using one of the other flavours, stir in to the cooled milk mixture and colour if desired.

2. Pour into six ice-lolly moulds and freeze until solid. Dip into hot water for a few seconds to release from the mould. Serve immediately.

Serves 6
