I have had soya milk for over 20 years I think now and have got used to it.

I mainly use it in things like tea, cereals & cooking etc. there are a number of different makes out there - some taste better than others.

I prefer Tescos own brand (Sweetened). some of the more expensive ones have some oil added in to make them smoother - I find them a bit slimey!

Also make sure you get ones with added calcium to make up for the loss of calcium from cows milk. Or you can suplement it in crunchy tablet form - yummm!

Thanks everyone for your advice.

May give rice milk a go but the thought of it tasting like wet carbourd is not that appealing!!

Have started taking other supplements so may give the calcium a go if I find soya or rice milk suits me best. Have decided at age 41 it`s time to take more care of me as well as my family.

Take care.

I don't know if you've tried Goats milk but if not might be worth a try?

I can't have cows milk but don't seem to have any trouble with goats milk and I don't find it tastes as bad as soya or rice milk.

There is also an oat milk - not used it for a while but think it was ok. I use soya (4 for £2 at the moment in ASDA) and quite like it now.

How does anyone else get on with any of these milks in ground coffee? I find soya milk curdles.

I think I've probably tried them all and only one I ""enjoy"" is Rice Dream. It is easily obtainable in supermarkets and I make sure I get the one fortified with calcium. Having said that I only use it for cereals and cooking ie I tend to drink black tea and black coffee though I do occasionally use it in milky drinks like cocoa.

I switched from semi skimmed to skimmed milk years ago, and it took a while to get used to the taste... But even now, if I have semi-skimmed and my asthma is fine, I feel it on my chest. I've just got so used to skimmed milk. Never tried soya, is it better for you than skimmed??
