allergy question

i have amoungst other allegies, an allergy to dogs. i work in a lab and last week was using dog serum. i am sure i had a reaction to this (sneezing, itchy eyes, PF down) but work's OHA seems to think that serum would not cause a problem. Does anyone here have any experiance of being allergic to dog blood or the medics amounst know if this is possible as work are saying im OK to work with this stuff but im not so sure and my asthma is only just starting to improve after a chest infection a while ago. Thanks for any info and advice.
