My omron is just over 2 years old .... Been fine most of its life apart from an initial hicup with a faulty mesh cap ( White medical replaced it but still blamed me for messing it up!!!)
On tuesday, it got very soggy around the mesh and wouldn't work propperly on 2nd neb, Opted for epipen at that point anyway!
Today, I barely worked at all, even with a brand new mesh - just a weedy stream that wouldn't even nebulise a gnat!
Hve cleaned both meshes really well, still no or virtually no mist !
(Boiled, steredented and vinegar methods!!!)
Has anyone else had this problem? Also, the unit is just over 2 years old so 6 weeks out of its waranty period!!!!
What else can it be? I have tried 3 sets of batteries, cleaned the chamber really well. The meshes look fine!
Grrrr! will have to dig out the old Sonix!
Yours nebless!

I know Evergreens are good for spares but I was chatting to them the other day and they were very helpful and knowledgable. If you really stuck might be worth a call to them see if they have any ideas.
Errrr, tried boiling the meshes for the last ..... & final time!
They have melted and stuck to the bl!!******** Y Pan!
Oh B*gger! ( that was expensive!)
will either have to get a new mesh that works or send the pain in the back side of a neb off to have its bits tweeked!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Going to go and cry ..........................
( sobs of anoyment!!)
Kate-unfortunately it seems I am now too late if you have already melted Baby to the saucepan....
I have had the same problem, and like you assumed it was the mesh at fault-well, we all do, don't we, and like you, I bought another mesh from Nigel but still I only had a micro trickle of mist. So I rang Nigel up, literally about to buy a 2nd Baby from him.
He solved the problem instantly!
Apparently the contacts on the main unit and underneath the medicine cup, need occasional wiping with a drop of alcohol to clean the grease off. So I got a Q tip and a drop of pure alcohol (vodka would do it!) and just dabbed all the contacts, rinsed with a drop of water, dried, re assembled, and hey presto!
Now, I do this every few weeks, and am still on the same mesh and have never had a bunged up misty flow since.
I only 'boil' mine once a week, preferring to hold the bits under a running tap on a daily basis instead, to remove the salt crystals in this weather, then dry and re-assemble.
And I don't use actual boiling water. I put all the bits in a tupperware container, shake some vinegar over them, and boil the kettle but wait about a minute before I pour the water over the bits and leave to soak for an hour, rinse, done.
I haven't ever caught an infection from my 'not as sterile as yours!' neb, and I do neb everything through it, anti bs, steroids and the regular vent and atro. Poor Baby gets a bashing when we are out somewhere and it's dose up time, but he has been fine since I learned to clean the contacts.
Hope this helps somebody, even though it may be too late for Kate!

thanks, I don't often boil them! Just thought it was the silly meshes - pity I put both in the pan ! Grrrr! I have got by with the steredent & vinegar method most of the time. (one mesh was brand new!)
I also tried a bit of vinegar on the contacts too cos I thought they could be dirty - will try a steret and order a new mesh ( dont' think my insurance will pay up for accidental neb remoulding! LOL) If that doesn't work, will send it back etc.
Am using my Old Sonix which is about 8 yrs old and has a short battery life, I did manage to recharge it last night so may last 2-3 nebs me thinks. Also runs off the mains & car too so bunged car cable in glove pocket just in case. I worked fine at church this AM.
The one good thing a bout the sonix ( was made by Medix / Clement Clarke) is that it nebbed really well in 4-5 minutes and only needed wiping with a tissue when out & about then a quick clean with hot water ( soap for the mouth bits) with no problems at all. The only down side was the weight & bulkiness - still it is very portable.
Have just been looking at the Aeroneb Go by Respironics - natty but quite expensive. nearly £300! BUT if Oscar Omron is no more , may consider one....
Anyway,
Many thanks for the advice!
Take care & stay cool!

Spare parts
Hi
I've just bought one of these beauties and just wondered what parts need replacing so that I can order some spares - is it just the mesh? How long (on average) do they last?
