Drug Absorption

Tommorrow I am having a prednislone absorption test tommorow and they are questioning if I have a adsorption problem. I was wondering what sort of condtions this could bebecause? and what can be done?

I have had both pred and phyllocontin absorbtion studies done at the Brompton in my case you took your meds in front of a Dr and then had blood taken every hour for 8 hours. It was useful as it proved I have one of the weirdest theophylline patterns ever seen and that I was compliant. It proved once and for all I was totally complient. It can help the Doctors look to see if other things are affecting your absorbtion. If your pattern is normal then I guess they might question complience but I think they would repeat the test to be sure. If it is not normal then maybe you need more pred to get the same levels as someone. It is nothing to worry about and steriod absorbtion is very eratic I had one blood test that showed lower levels than they should have been, however all other levels they had done were normal and the consultant said it is not abnormal to sometimes get a randomly odd result.
