Hi

i have my flu jab booked for the end of September....Luckily I have never had flu after the flu jab.....

Take care x

I had my 1st flu jab last winter, and OK, i'd spent the previous months with constant colds and chest infections I thought what the hell. The week after the jab I wasn't unwell, but had lower PF readings, and slightly run down feeling, but no other complications. Shall be having again this year, earlier and ignoring the Dr who said I don't need it.

Some people i know who've had it in the past have become really ill. A customer of mine once was in bed for a week, never got up, he was so bad, just like the real thing, and my aunt was taken to hospital after having it, so it doesn't work well and can make some a lot worse.

I've never had one. My husband had one a few times when they were done at his office, and he didn't have any particular problems, just once or twice felt mildly ""off"" for a couple of days, but never as bad as having 'flu. One year he had the 'flu anyway later on.

I haven't decided what I'll do if I'm offered it.

I always have a flu jab and never had a problem up to yet.Our doctors will have their flu jab clinic in 2 weeks time and I hope its got the swine flu jab also.I have head a few people say they get a reaction usualy a lump and brused arm.My brother in law and neice had swine flu and were realy bad.from what I heard, swine flue is a respotery infection and if asthmatics are having a bad flair up would have more of a problem so carnt wait have mine xxx

I have one every year and don't want to take the risk of not having one. Have only had flu once after having the jab and that was a rough time. It might hurt a little bit but it's worth the effort of queuing up on an October morning.

Hello, its better to be safe than sorry, flu can cause big problems if you are asthmatic. So its better to have it i think than risk an execerbation or worse. Some people do seem to be poorly after having had the jab BUT maybe they would have been poorly anyway - i missed my flu jab with occy health one year and then was poorly sick for a week. If i had not missed the jab i would have blamed that for the illness! Its better to have it than take an unecessary risk i guess, it doesn't hurt much and it might meant you avoid an admission. Take care everyone, Lois

All the time i have had asthma i have never had the flu jab has anyone else experinced this ?

I feel a bit off for a day or two after the jab but it is much preferable to having the flu

I used to catch flu twice a year and get REALLY ill but since I have started the jab about 5 years ago i have never had the flu so it must work. It's been amazing for me and starting to get it every year is the best thing I ever did
