Flu Jabs 10/10

I realise that it is early days with this years flu jabs. I had mine yesterday & later on last night & all day today I've been itchy. No rash that I can see yet. One of the side effects can be itchiness & I wondered if I'm in the minority here. I'm hoping it goes away or I'll have to start taking antihistamines.

I had mine a few weeks back, got an itchy lump come up and i felt like I was coming down with a cold but a couple of paracetamol helped - ironically only a week or so later I came down with the mother of all colds lol

Christine

all i got was a hot lump on the injection site but no itching...have you tried sudocream?

Soooooo glad I've found this! I've never has a reaction to my 'flu jabs or other jabs for that matter. Had my 'flu jab on Monday, Monday evening (not helped by woman swinging her bag into my arm on the bus) it had swelled and was really painful, even with paracetamol. Pain's less now, but still swelled, and the itching is sooo weird - no rash, nothing to seem like it should be itchy, but it's driving me mad!!!

My itch has all but disappeared. My face was the itchiest, but had it over the top half of my body. The injection site was very painful & very hot & red last night, but that too has settled. Never had a reaction to any injections before, except the swine flu one. My skin felt like it was crawling. I eventually took some antihistimine which helped.

3rd swine flu jab!

My daughter is 10 and had 2 swine flu jabs last year. She always has the seasonal flu jab but I am concerned this year as the seasonal flu jab has swine flu vaccine in it. This would be her 3rd dose. Are NNS providing any alternatives? I want her to be protected but don't think she should be given unnecessary 3rd dose of swine flu vaccine?

Any ideas?

Hi Grannymo. Yes the site of my flu jabs often hurts for a while afterwards, like you say, often in bed when I turn on that side. The worst flu jab I ever had was delivered by my then GP who was helping the nurses with the long queue. He literally 'jabbed' it in, I was in pain for quite a while afterwards! George and I are going this Thursday for ours (George is off school for teacher training day). Something to look forward to LOL.

My gp surgery made me laugh. they booked me in for my flu jab despite me saying i was allergic to eggs then the day before practise nurse rang me and said we cannot give it to you as you have an allergy to eggs. I was so highly amused! So no flu jab for me!

My flu jab was tender for about 5 days. I hardly felt the needle at the time though. Thankfully the itch went after a couple of days.

I looked like I'd been working out! Lovely toned enlarged left arm muscle, could even see profile through jumper (shame right arm wasn't same). Hurt a bit, noticed voice a bit hoarse and cough'd embarassingly non stop today - but that could be other time of year nasties. Feel OK though, honey and lemon and then tea and brandy chaser is the answer!

: )

well i normally get an itcy area around the jab and abit pale for some reason , not afraid of jabs as i have to for diabetes, but not sure mine on the 30th of this month will go ahead, been rather rough , and having blood test , spewtum test and xrays for me chest, breathing is still lousy and chest pain , so not knowing what has caused all my agro lately , virus, bacteria or something else , i might have to wait or go without?

i had mine today, feel fine in myself thus far but arm is hot and itchy where i had it.

got my jab and my arm is flippin huge, hot, swollen, sore and red. oh its hurting :(

i have mine on tuesday when i go and see my asthma nurse, having two needles that day, i hope i dont react as last years one was fine

I had mine done this morning, pretty painless at the time (and very quick) now the injection site is swollen, tight and tender. I've not noticed any additional itching, since the jab but I've been pretty itchy for the past few days anyway.
