Firstly i would just like to say Hi to you all! I am new to the forum & i'm so glad i have found you. I have had asthma since i was 13 years old. It never really effects me unless i have a cold.
Just before christmas i had the flu. I was put on steroids for 2 weeks. The doctor tested my sputum. It came back ok.
I have now had a really bad cold which went straight to my chest (again). My partner had to take me to A&E on sunday 2am. I was given 2 lots of neb, steroids & antibiotics. My temperature was 105 due to my virus.Work worries me. I really hate being off. So i went on monday. I was absolutely shattered when i got home. Went on tuesday, they sent me home.
On wednesday i went to have my chest checked as i am still coughing and i am rattling a little bit. The doctor informed me i had had a asthma attack, they should of kept me in & that i could of died. He has also signed me off until 29th January.
This has really scared me. I am doing my peak flow everyday which is 400 straight (is this ok?) I am going to see the asthma nurse on the 25th January. How long does is take to fully recover from a asthma attack. I've never had one before.
Thanks
Julie
