I've been on this for a few months and just wondering if anyone else is on it as I know it isn't common. I think it is a turns into terbutaline so is a bronchodilator, its a tablet and I take 10mg twice a day. Its reduced the need for me to use my inhaler/nebs so often. Would be great if anyone can tell me more about it.

Bambuterol/Bambec, anyone on it?
I was on it for a few years about 8 years ago - had to stop as had bronchodilator overload!
I take something similar TG.
I take Bricanyl tablets (terbutaline sulphate) 3 times a day (5mg).
What is it you would like to know about it?
Thanks guys, nice to know I'm not the only one who's been on it. Wheezer - I just wondered if it is the same as the one you take and if it's okay to still use my nebs and inhaler as I've been using them quite a bit lately.

I was told to carry on using my bricanyl nebs prn too and I have to use alot of them too but my cons agree's to it!
Im sure you're OK taking nebs with them BUT if things feel worse enough to need more meds see a Dr or GP and get advice!
Bambuterol is metabolised into Terbutaline in the body.
Its normally given as 10/20mg at night.
Bambuterol is a long-acting preparation.
But one thing I had ""DRILLED"" into me when cons realised how many other meds I was on the lowered pottassium levels that it would be SERIOUSLY advisable to get pottassium levels checked periodically.
As these drugs can lower K levels (pottassium) badly on there own let alone combined with other asthma meds!
Opps turned into lecture TG didnt mean it too!
I did alot of research on these tabs when I was started on them!
Thanks Wheezer, that was really helpful. I have been feeling really tired lately, maybe my Potassium is low again, as it was low when i was in costa. I will get it checked out when i see my gp next.
