Hi All! I have very difficult eucinophillic asthma & have had 16monthly MEPOLIZUMAB injections. Altho the blood results were quite startlingly good from the start, my terrible breathlessness has been unchanged. I’ve been able to very gently reduce my steroid dose the last couple of months, being very closely monitored, but suddenly the Eucinophils are jumping from just 10 to 340 in a fortnight & my Nitrous Oxide reading has shot up from 37 to 66. The Prof said they may need to change me to RESLIZUMAB. Is anyone here on this drug? How have you found it??
I would be interested to hear from anyone.
Many thanks!

Many thanks for your reply. Feel very alone & I continue to deteriorate despite every new drug.. Not much online about Reslizumab as it’s such a new drug.. just clinical info..
It's sad that you feel alone sparkimoore, and hopefully being on this site makes you feel abit better. If you need to just rant then please email and hopefully you will feel a bit better getting stuff off your chest! your on a low one and we all go through this, one time or another, just try and stay strong I'm suffered cateted by my big family but its what I need sometimes I'm sure you have good friends so reach out to them it will help. All these new drugs that are out I hope will make you feel abit better and just a suggestion why don't you contact the asthma nurse on this site you never know she or he may be able to help you. Take care
I’m completely isolated. I’ve lost contact with friends & colleagues after having to finish work in 2011. My best friend who had terrible obliterative bronchiolitis died in Dec. I hear from no one now. I’m only 56 but Breathing is so bad it’s a nightmare to get out at all. I have 4 beloved cats.. My family!
( no, I’m not allergic to them) & my 91 yr old Mum lives with me, & she’s been looking after ME cos she’s in rude health & im so bad.. & she shouldn’t be doing that, but I struggle to cope with the absolute basics each day.. so hard.. Thanks for your concern. It means a lot!
Thanks Asthma girl. I’ve looked online.. there’s not much info as it’s such a new drug. I really wanted to hear from someone else actually taking it. It’s all very well what the Drs say, & the drug companies, but only another patient can say what it’s really like to take..
Thank you VERY much! It sounds like I very much meet the criteria for Reslizumab as detailed here, and as the Prof in Southampton told me on Monday. I hadn’t found more than a few words about it but there’s loads of papers on it listed here, & also the other new drug Ben.. something, which is going thru NICE approval at the mo, which may also be an option, so THANK YOU for sending the link!!
