Good morning lovely people..im currently on a mission about assessing Healthcare services and if they are better in the south. I was referred for an Mri scab after being batted away by my GO repeatedly and I threatened to contact the Gmc ..only had the strength to do this after joining this group and contacting versus arthritis. No appointment has come through and just met with robotic humans reading from a script......! Anyone please do tell me if this is the same everywhere?

Unfortunately I doubt it….most people think the south is better served, but that’s no necessarily so! Parts of it may be richer, but much of it’s has an older population, and areas of deprivation with lower seasonal work. Many of the healthcare services are stretched to the limit…as everywhere.

My husband has severe pain. A couple of years ago he was told to contact the physios if it got worse.

It did get worse so two months ago he did contact them and there’s something like a six month wait to be assessed. We live in Sussex. So just another four months to wait to be assessed, probably not in person.

I think it varies from GP to GP and hospital to hospital, basically the management. My medical centre is useless, and my GP is reputedly bone idle. I have discovered that a couple of our GPs are doing private work on the side. This is the south of England.

Hi, I live in the South coast and our waiting times are looooong... Our friends live in the Midlands, and they have much better healthcare than us.

I live in the south and a referral for an mri scan last year was tut tutted by the receptionist at the hospital. She kept saying my lumber pain was just muscle pain and likely to go away. Little did I know at that point it was the first of my spinal fractures.

However, I insisted it to be done arguing the doctor must have thought it necessary or I wouldn't have had the referral. I had the mri done in complete silence and with little help to get on and off the the bed. I was not told of the results until weeks later when I had further spinal collapses in my thoracic region and was in hospital for six weeks.

I have not seen any gp, let alone my own gp for well over a year now. Everything is done by e consult which does not help the elderly or those who have no internet or smart phone.

I live in a fairly affluent area with pockets of deprivation, so where you live does not seem to count, it is bad all over the UK.
