Hi all

So I’ve been told I have arthritis in my right leg, knee

The pain is of the charts is it normal to have thigh muscles aching, I’m beginning to think that they have misdiagnosed me and it’s more likely to be from were they went in to through the groin when I had a heart ablation ?

Can anyone help from there experiences

Hi Donkster , thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear that you're in a lot of pain right now.

It may be worth taking a look at our website for more information about arthritis, and speaking to your GP or healthcare professional about your concerns. We have useful pages on what arthritis actually is, and a few ways that you can self-manage your knee and help to reduce the pain you're feeling.

Hello Donkster. I think amateurs like us would be hard put to comment successfully on your pain. My husband had a similar procedure done some years ago and it didn’t affect any other part of his body (other than heart and groin of course) if that’s of any use to you. To control the pain in the meantime have a word with your pharmacist maybe? Let’s hope the pain improves!

Hi Donkster, I get a lot of muscle pain coming from arthritic joints. My surgeon explained that its my muscles over compensating for the damaged joint. In saying this, I really do agree with everyone else and advise you to talk to your GP or Consultant and get it all checked out again. Really hope you get some help and some pain relief.

Hi I’m in my 3 rd week of excruciating pain there is just no let up. Hospital after X-ray and blood tests said early arthritis, can’t get any relief after watching QVC thinking of trying CBH OIL hemp as paracetamol and Voltarol not Evan made any difference beginning to think it might be something else?. I mean I know people suffer with arthritis but this pain is right up there maybe everyone is handling it better than me ? Mmmm the only relief is when I finally drop of to sleep 💤 🙃

I would get a second opinion and stress the pain you are suffering to the doctor. I take Diclofenac, paracetamol, Dihydrocodeine and morphine sulphate for breakthrough pain. Arthritis is a very painful condition but there may be something else underlying. Please get it checked out as its no good suffering the way you are at the moment. Good luck 🙂

I guess I’ve found out just how painful arthritis is into my 5 week and there is no sign of it easing. Broken sleep adding to the whole experience. Calf and thigh hurting I have to stand to get relief if you can call it that 🙃 oh well best just suck it up can’t last forever?
