Hi, I have moderate knee pain and find it worst in the right knee, I say average pain but on occasion it can give me socks! If I happen to rotate on the knee in a certain position, but generally am getting a mild acheing feeling when out walking.
Has anyone used a glucosamine supplement to good affect? And is it good on it's own or with chondroitin? Thanks

I've been taking the Glucosamine/chondroitin supplement for about 3 decades but it took about 3 or 4 months to show signs of improvement. You need to take the high dosage though. There was a TV program that did some tests on it and concluded it was worth taking as long as the dose was right. Some cheap versions have too small a dosage. As with all medications it doesn't work for everyone but it does for me. I get mine from Healthspan and have the Joint Physio Glucosamine Plus which is the high dose one. Hope that helps.
I tried it for around 9 months. Felt no benefit at all so stopped. I now use Tumeric and black pepper twice a day (600mg) and my recovery times after hiking and walking are superb, It used to take me 3 days to get over a 10 mile hike. Im fine the next day now. A few twinges and creaks but no pains as before. Also a few drops of CBD oil each night which seems to relax and help with the sleep.
