tendinitis up my side after hip op

hi

I'm back again and thanking for support, my other query is since week 6 post op I have tenderness up the opposite side of my body especially if touch it or lie on it

Doc thought it was water infection 🤔 but tested ok the registrar thought it is from the back? I cant help wondering if it's tendinitis after looking on- line ( maybe crutching has upset muscles?)

has anybody experienced please and how did you go on? My surgeon says I still need to crutch as I limp due to twisted pelvis - he says the limp and twist will resolve eventually by simply walking with crutch

I hope this is the case, Any experience of either much appreciated.

x

I had post op tendonitis about 3 months after replacement. I was prescribed Naproxen and then had guided steroid injections. It's not uncommon .

thanks Jackie. How is it now for you had it improved? Does it go after stopping crutches. ( I'm a bit bewildered to be told it's from my back tbh ).

Could it be due to compensation when you walk. Your leg may be a different length to what it was before?

the tendinitis at other body side may be also from leaning in on crutch for weeks

Or body adjusting ? but I think it's the crutching morelike

I limped b4 op. Long time, Left so long the body had to adjust to cope it's not norm

They are same length

not different leg lengths

pelvis tilting makes it appear shorter and only affects the back heel

It's the first thing he said to me when op finished 'they are same length' so he could obv tell in the

He says my limp will improve.

It's complex isnt it.

Hi there sorry you are in pain. After having my half knee replacement I had lots of aches and pains in my body with tendinitis being the fundamental problem. I think it’s to do with the body readjusting after walking so badly for so long. I went onto the Bob & Brad website on YouTube they are PTs and really really helpful with all sorts of exercises you need for the problem. Good luck

thanks so much il look at that. What a helpful site & people

Yes I agree I can see what you say to be true , each different too. I'm getting used to it being a marathon not a sprint!

How did you go on with your tendinitis May i ask

They helped me sort it out (together with physios locally) with exercises and it took a number of weeks but did go eventually. Sometimes tendinitis comes back in other places but exercises are the key to recovery and Bob & Brad are excellent!
