Hi Allan, I also have osteoarthritis in my neck. I get lots of pain in my neck, shoulders and head. It's like my head is in a vice. It varies day to day with the severity of the pain. The back of my head crackle' s when I turn it. Family members have heard the noise it makes. I do use regular pain relief, paracetamol and codeine does help. Have you had any Physio etc. I'm going back to see the occupational therapist tomorrow for some exercise. Hope your pain eases soon

I have exactly the same problems, also in my lower back.I have problems with my arms because of it and problems walking because of my dodgy hips and knees.I also have copd which doesn't help.To cap it off I'm a coeliac and also suffer from labyrinthitis.I have meds for inflammation(naproxen)and paracetamol for the pain.I take amitriptyline at night.I'm seeing my physio Wednesday.

How do you get on with amitriptyline? My doc prescribed me some. She said there good for nerve pain. I find my legs definitely settle better at night. Labyrinthitis , i' d never heard off until recently. My sister has it at the minute. Thought I read somewhere it can be connected to arthritis?

The amitriptyline took a couple of weeks to kick in but it does seem to settle my legs too.Labyrinthitis(vertigo, dizziness etc)can also cause headaches, but I have meds for that. Not sure about connection to arthritis, but I know coeliac disease can be.

Allen , Hi had same problem but started taking Glucosmine and Omega 3 Tablets some time ago and its much better and no side effects, if you can do without the hard drugs its much better, and its worked for me.
