Hi I'm 49 was diagnosed with severe lumber and cervical facet hypertrophy I also have oa throughout my hands I'm on prescription meds which don't help with my pain or headaches I have never been offered injections just wondering if anyone else has same problem

Hi Maz2222 - sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I've got to the stage now whereby my hands and feet are the only bits of me that don't have o/a. I had an injection in my hip two years ago and, frankly, it really didn't do very much for me although it was quite an uncomfortable procedure!! I will be having a hip replacement once one or two other problems I have are sorted out. I'm sure others will have had better results with injections so don't give up hope!!
Thanks for your reply I have oa throughout my neck it has affected all my facets that's maybe why they don't offer it .I have cervicogenic headaches constantly which is not pleasant I havnt even been sent to pain clinic just put me on more pills
You really must insist, don't wait for them to ask you what you think is wrong with you.. ask to see a rheumatologist, and orthopaedic surgeon. You have waited long enough, and frankly, this could have made you worse. This is the problem, with this country. If there is a waiting list, I think you can still chose another health authority. Sometimes going into A&E, and sitting there till you are seen, can do the trick.
