Post partum psychosis and calcitonin

Have read that calcitonin injections have been used for bi polar conditions and is said to be promising lowering mood swings of elation and depression. As this condition is linked through production in the para follicular cells in the thyroid, a deficiency due to neuro endocrine disturbance, or post natal thyroid conditions could be a major cause of post partum mood swings. Is there any current research on the use of calcitonin in hospitals in the UK as it would seem a more natural treatment for new lactating mothers?
