Hello Marie30x,
welcome to this forum. I am very sorry about your struggles and relapses of Psychosis.
I have had Post Partum Psychosis and was diagnosed after given birth to my son in 2010.
This forum is helping and supporting mums who are suffering from this traumatising illness including family members.
May I ask you what type of Psychosis you have had? If yours is of a different kind, forum members maybe able to advise and re-direct you to relevant web sites, support-contacts or help lines.
Once I recovered from PPP I continued to struggle with mental health issues. A second opinion was essential in order to clarify what exactly was wrong with me. My stress levels can affect my well-being.
Take good care
x
Hello marie30x, I've also had 3 episodes over 8 years, just when you think it's all coming together it happens again and it's such a struggle to come back from. I've been well for two and a half years now and take sertraline and abilify every day to stay stable. I recently found out that I'd been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, but I'm lucky that the meds work well for me. It's all very hard to come to terms with, but maybe acceptance is half the battle. I have to say that life gets a whole lot easier once the kids start school 😏 Anyway, I hope I haven't worried you, everyone is different. If it does turn out to be longer term know that it will be ok with the right ongoing treatment/medication in place x
