Same old dilemma? want a baby still scared of services

I am desperate but same old dilemma - I was put off by a psychiatrist? Did any one conceive on meds...if so what meds were they?

Have you already had a baby and had postnatal psychosis? Was it this experience that made you afraid of psychiatrists?

I have 2 children. I had pp with first but not second as I had a good plan in place and lots of support.

I didn't conceive on meds either time or take meds in pregnancy, I was fortunate that pregnancy hormones result in me being more stable.

my advice would be to get medical advice for this - if you don't trust your CMT then I'd suggest requesting change of staff if possible. There are some medications where it wouldn't be a no to getting pregnant safely and the others would be a risk to baby but would need to be balanced against your MH so a psychiatrist might prescribe.
