Just wanted to share with this amazing community, the feature that was on BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour this morning regarding menopausal psychosis. I am normally a shrinking violet when it comes to the limelight (!!) but I just felt that I had to share my story. The story is 20:56 minutes in to the podcast app-network.org/news-events...

Postpartum Psychosis and the menopause..............
Dear Mungomia,
thank you for giving your voice; so courageous and brave.
It is a relief knowing that I am not the only one struggling after PPP.
Health and happiness,
Sabine
You are definitely not the only one. My daughter is one on Monday and I became unwell with PPP two weeks after birth. It probably would have surfaced earlier but my daughter was in ICU for ten days. I have been discharged from hospital 5 months now but still struggle with the trauma of what happened to me and my brain during that time. I'm scared of it coming back and also of the thoughts I had. Together however I'm sure we will all get better x x for the sake of our children if nothing else x x
Dear Bethanylj,
thank you for your kind response.
It is always good to keep focused and also to enjoy quality time with your little one. My boy is 6 years old and great fun.
I am very happy to have found this forum and to learn about other females, who have had PPP and how they describe their journey of recovery.
It helps to keep in touch and communicate, because each individual mum on this forum can share compassion.
Wishing you well.
Sabine
