Life assurance increased premium

After recently moving house we have had to renew our life assurance policies, I'm really upset to discover that I will have to pay an increased premium due to the fact I declared being ill with PP. Has anybody else experienced this? I really wasn't expecting it to be a problem and feel it's so unfair.

Hi, It is really unfair. I didn't manage to find any company that would insure me for life insurance when we moved house at all due to declaring the PP I had in November 2013. I wrote a previous post about this which you may be interested in. Xox

Thanks for replying, I must be doing something wrong as I tried a search but it searches the whole of health unlocked rather than just this forum and couldn't find anything. It feels very unfair but perhaps I should just be grateful I got some insurance.

That's okay. If you look on my profile you will see a link to the thread. Yes that is good that you at least got insurance. Which company have you gone with? How long ago was it that you had PP? How much extra did it cost? Xox

I was ill in 2010, went on to have another pregnancy in 2012 and with preventative medication remained well. The premiums have almost doubled, some of this is due to me being overweight also. The company is legal and general. I'm just waiting to hear if they have imposed special terms or if it's just simply a case of higher premiums.
