Hi! General question, I started taking sertraline 50mg today, and it has left me feeling absolutely knackered and dizzy, is this normal? :-(

Hi Ryan,

I wouldn't expect you to feel side effects this fast to be honest. I would see how you go over the next few days and if the symptoms continue give your GP a call. Anti-depressants normally take up to 10 days to take effect.

hi ryan, wife just started taking a week ago. first 5 days on 25mg then 50mg from yesterday.read your question out to her she says had no effects in this short time, but everybody is different, if it continues for too long would go back to docs,take care

First few weeks I got loads of different symptoms and i felt dizzy, withdrawn, more anxious and its took a good 4 weeks for it to settle down. They did work well afterwards for me for a good 5 years.

I took sertraline along with my normal medication of propranolol on my gp's recommendation and i had a VERY frightening reaction,maybe even allergic that lasted for hours. i would never advise or recommend someone stop taking their prescribed medication however, i have never taken it since and stick to my usual propranolol, has the doctor suggested this to you? it has a milder effect. whatever you choose good luck
