Zoloft: Anyone here taking Zoloft? I need... - Anxiety Support
Zoloft
It usually takes 4-5 weeks for the side effects to go away. Heightened anxiety is one of the side effects, so what you are feeling is probably normal. The medicine really doesn’t kick all the way in until 6-8 weeks, so hang in there if you can and keep taking it. I’d give it at least 8 weeks before talking with your doctor about if it’s working or not.
Mine felt like it really started working after about the 5th week. I’ve felt really good ever since.
Thanks Man, it’s a freakin struggle, I’ll have a good day, then BAM! A bad one! Sucks. Today is day 15 and I’m more even keel, it’s weird.
Yeah, that’s the way it was when I started. I’d have a few good days and think I was better, then the next day I have some crappy side effect.
Hang in there even the it sucks, it’s worth it in the end. Good luck!
Yeah, Zoloft typically takes a month or so to fully kick in, and heightened anxiety is definitely one of the side effects. I remember feeling so bad that I spent every evening at my parents' house in tears that it was never going to get better. But I kept up with my medication, and now I've been anxiety-free for almost 6 months now. Just keep at it, find a hobby or distraction that easily calms you down, and eventually you'll feel it start to work.
Good luck!
