I suffer daily from panic disorder and yes have and still am trying all suggested help methods. I have a question, that came to mind. Has anyone ever been hospitalized for Panic Disorder?...and if so what was the course of "treatment" they followed? Did it help? How long were you hospitalized?

Asking a question out of curiosity
The times I been to the Er for panic they did absolutely nothing. Just send me home and told me to see a psychiatrist. I do sometimes feel like I need to be in a mental institution for this panic disorder. It's probably better than dealing with it at home.
Thank you. I know some friends who have gone to ER in a panic attack and after a LONG wait, got in only to be told it was just that...a panic attack and sent home. When I attended Cognitive Behaviour Therapy classes 2 men said they HAD been admitted to the hospital and it was awful....they just sat in their rooms all day, saw the physciatrist for maybe 10 min. (not their own physciatrist) and were left to "sit". One guy went out for a smoke and kept right on going....home.....I wondered if it was just our hospital in our town? I wondered if other physic wings took more time or did more with patients who were admitted? Like you I've been so bad lately at times I wish they'd admit me...but wanted to know what to expect.
