IBS due to anxiety and overthinking.

How many of you have ibs (c and d) (or individual)? I am gonna take amytriptyline 10 mg from today (prescribed) as I took in past and I felt relieved by that. What are the things that made your symptoms seem very less?

Since I got evicted back in May and got removed from a place where I was made miserable at my ibs symptoms have gone into remission which I feel is no happy accident!

If you mean the anxiety, you may want to read thru lots of replies to other posts. These are full of helpful suggestions. IBS? For me diet was everything. My daughter is on a medication for IBS. Has your doctor prescribed a medication? If not, get a second opinion. IBS is often part of Fibromyalgia Syndrome. Do you have a lot of body pain, aching and stiffness? Anything that helps anxiety will usually help IBS. Be careful with any medication that is a 'benzodiazapine ' Once you are on them for more than a month it's a struggle to come off of them. Yes. My doctor had prescribed dicyclomine, chlordiazepoxide ans clidium bromide combination med but it had benzo in it. Cannot take them much. I do not have body acne, pain and stiffness. For me it is overthinking. The less I worry and ruminate the better.

Yes that medication is the worst. I was on it for IBS. GI dr. decided that I needed to come off it on a moment's notice. Told me that there were no withdrawal symptoms. What a crock. I was worse than ever. It has taken me about 4months to start to get back feeling better. Prayers.
